If people care about clean air, water, and all animals please don't vote PC. And, while this organization is NOT political, I as an individual am. It's called a DEMOCRACY... Lets get wind power right out of Ontario, enough of your sophistry...energy sprawl is no more acceptable than urban sprawl, particularly when it can be shown it does not reduce dependence on fossil fuels, will not improve air quality when it is forced on grid systems in such quantity that it requires expensive conventional balancing generation and the additional expense and environmental destruction of transmission build-out, and causes economic reverses which kills jobs and social services.

On March 26, I attended the "No Tankers Rally" in Vancouver, BC. I was almost in tears after hearing descriptions from First Nations speakers about how development of the Alberta Tar Sands had destroyed their land and their lives. I look forward to hearing that the Indigenous Peoples of the boreal forest are able to continue with their lifestyle and traditions for many generations to come.

Great Job!
But all for not, do you really think that people care enough to reduce their carbon footprint. People are all about themselves, and will probably never change. There is an electric car available but I have only seen one, and the government does not fund research and development because they are all about oil and it will kill the environment. We will pay a high price for ignorance.

The mining industry gets away with practices that pollute solely on the basis of saving money. As an example the power industry typically returns cooling water to lakes or streams as clean or cleaner than its source. If the tar sands or minerals processing operations were required to adopt alternative but existing technology, even new technology, the water used in grinding ores or transporting waste slurries could be separated and purified before being returned to its source. The blocking mechanisms are refusal to accept responsibility for not polluting,to be stuck in tradititional methods, refusal to accept lower profits. It's time for the professions to lose their licence to practice for designing polluting processes.
